International Short Training Course:Being Involved in International Research Projects: Experiences b

Aims:

New environmental issues are emerging in many parts of the world although researchers have been addressing the existing issues. Nepal is not an exception. This one-day student training course is arranged for Master’s-course level students to learn some of the current issues observed in the Himalayan region through the collaborative international field research projects. The course expects all participants to understand the importance and roles of international research teams and how they can be involved in such projects. This one-day training course will also celebrate the long-term contribution of Prof. Dr. Narendra Raj Khanal to geography and land science.

Targeted participants:

About 25 Master’s students, who are interested in international research projects

11:30-12:30 Khumbu social-change study project (Ms. Yujie Sun, PhD student, Hokkaido University)

13:30-14:30 J-Rapid program and the hazard-study by drone (Mr. Yusuke Kobayashi, PhD student, Hokkaido University)

14:30-15:00 Drone demonstration (Mr. Yusuke Kobayashi & Prof. Teiji Watanabe)
