Speaker: Jo Hann Tan (the Executive Director and the Trainer of PUSAT KOMAS)

Mr. Jo Hann Tan will share his experience as a community organizer* working with people who are facing issues of natural disaster, industrial waste and rural development in Malaysia, Indonesia, and Cambodia. He will also talk about the role and activities of community organizers in South East Asia. We will discuss about the potential of community organizing in Japan. (In English with Japanese translation)
Community organizer* Community organizing is a process that people in a community come together into an organization that acts in their shared self-interest. Community organizer is a facilitator to help and promote its activity. CO has concrete and comprehensive vision for local people to change their reality of their own.
